πŸ™ ChatGPT to help overwhelmed leaders (Also: Apply by Aug 1 for cohort)

Published 9 months agoΒ β€’Β 2 min read

Hi friends!

I'm excited to share my latest article with you, and a few fun podcasts I've been listening to.

Senior social change leaders - Aug 1 application deadline for coaching cohort

This is the final week of applications for the small coaching cohort I'm leading in August. I'm excited to create a community of support where folks can learn from one another's wisdom. We'll be developing the skillsets and mindsets to do our changemaking work with more ease and joy.

5 ChatGPT use cases for senior leaders to save

I’ve been geeking out on AI (like ChatGPT) a lot lately. I have all kinds of mixed feelings about it. I think it’s incredible that we have such a powerful tool. And like many of you, I have concerns about opening up Pandora’s Box.

I use ChatGPT countless times per day to help me spend less time on the parts of my job that are tedious. I don’t believe in the capitalist narrative that causes us to strive for endless productivity. And at the same time, I believe tools like ChatGPT can help us reduce our already overloaded task list. The question then becomes: what do we do with that freed-up time?

β˜€οΈ Quotes & Inspiration

If you haven't read See No Stranger by Valerie Kaur, I recommend it. I don't think any book has ever moved me to tears so many times per chapter. I'd be lucky to get 4 pages without tearing up.

β€œJoy is the gift of love. Grief is the price of love. Anger protects that which is loved. And when we think we have reached our limit, wonder is the act that returns us to love.”
β€”Valerie Kaur, See No Stranger

πŸ“• Interesting & fun shares

  • πŸ”‰ The Revolution Will Not Be Psychologized Part 1 and Part 2: I love the invitation into a mythopoetic viewpoint. Western psychology is incredibly valuable in our culture and in our personal lives. And I always find myself longing for viewpoints that invite us to see ourselves as part of something greater.
  • 🎢 John Craigie's Live Album: This is my first time including music on this list! This album is half folk music and half standup comedy. I've re-listened to it a few times in the last month.
  • πŸ“• The Name of the Wind: It's not necessarily social change-oriented, but it's a fantasy book that is full of wisdom and inspiration. I love the main character because his main strength is his immense cleverness (rather than his magic).
  • πŸ”‰ Podcast on communal living from Ezra Klein: (The link didn't work last time I sent this, so I'm including it again this time.) I appreciated the exploration of the importance of having "larger care networks" β€” especially if you're parenting!
